ALBANY, N.Y. – Silas Richmond scored four goals for the Great Danes as UAlbany (7-4, 5-0 AE) defeated Vermont (4-6, 2-2 AE) 12-9 at Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Luke Reiter put the Catamounts on the board at the 2:54 mark of the first quarter, scoring on a one-timer off an assist from Zack Toll.

Cullen Decker converted on a man-up opportunity with one minute remaining in the first quarter, ripping a shot into the top-right corner of the goal off another assist from Toll to send the Catamounts into the second quarter up 2-0.

The second quarter featured 10 goals. UAlbany opened the quarter with a 4-0 run, scoring from the start of the quarter until the 8:49 mark. Silas Richmond scored back-to-back goals, followed by tallies from Koleton Marquis and Doherty.

The Catamounts and Great Danes then traded goals in an even 3-3 stretch. Sean McCeney and Max Goldstein scored consecutive goals, and Ethan Pearson added a man-up goal with 41 seconds remaining to cut the Great Danes' lead to two heading into halftime.

Richmond scored twice to open the third quarter for the Great Danes. The Catamounts responded with unassisted goals from Tristan Whitaker and Max Frattaroli, cutting the lead to two heading into the final quarter.

The Great Danes went on a 3-2 run in the final quarter, with goals from Jackson Palumb, Doherty, and Max Neeson to secure the victory.
