Burlington, Vt. – Sophia Kling recorded five saves as Vermont (0-2-1) fell to Yale (1-0-0) 0-2 on the road in New Haven, Ct. from Reese Stadium on Thursday evening.

" This was obviously not the result we wanted tonight but we were happy to use this game as a great opportunity to get players experience as we are still early in the season " said Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. HOW IT HAPPENED 

• In the 23rd minute, Sophia King made back-to-back saves. One was a breakaway stop, and the other was off a corner.  

• A few minutes later, Leah Farrell made an outstanding block to save a breakaway goal.  

• Kling saved a free kick in the 30th minute.  

• In the 44th minute, Yale executed a free-kick set piece and took a 1-0 lead to end the half.  

• Nine minutes into the second half, Yale would capitalize with a shot at the edge of the box, extending their lead to 2-0.  

• Aubrey Bough had a shot hit off the crossbar in the 57th minute.  

• In the 73rd minute, Kling made a save from a free kick taken just outside the box.  

• Several minutes later, Éléonore Blouin ripped a shot on goal, but the Yale goalkeeper was there for the save.

• Éléonore Blouin had a team-high one shot on goal. 

• Elizabeth Sommeling and Aubrey Bough tied for a team-high two shots apiece. 

• Sophia Kling notched five saves.
