COACH'S QUOTE
"It was important for our players to work through some things on the pitch today and find solutions," said Head Coach Kate Pfeifer. "Quinnipiac did a good job building the ball through the midfield and I thought our forwards' back pressure made a big difference. Nice to see Consu, Addie and Fi getting on the scoresheet, as all three of them have shown up consistently for the team in training."

HOW IT HAPPENED

· After a dominant first quarter the Catamounts opened the scoring with four seconds remaining in the opening frame on a series of back-to-back corners. On the second corner Fiona McMahon delivered the ball to Lara Cleophas.

· Cleophas gathered the ball quickly before firing a shot towards the net. The Bobcats goaltender Meike van Schoot got a piece of the shot, but it stayed loose behind her. McMahon popped the rebound home for her first goal of the year.

· Consu De Castro doubled the Vermont lead with 3:28 to play in the first half. The Catamounts press forced a turnover and 12 seconds later the ball was in the back of the net. Addie DelOrefice fired a shot towards the net and De Castro knocked the shot down a few feet from the net and fired it past an outstretched van Schoot for her first goal of the season.

· The Bobcats came out strong in the third quarter generating a corner opportunity and their only shot on goal of the contest, which was padded aside by Ila Gunner.

· Vermont wrapped up the scoring 4:41 into the final frame. After a quick restart along the end line Emily Enden drove to the net and her centering feed found DelOrefice in front and she stashed home her first goal of the season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

· Fiona McMahon opened the scoring in the first quarter with her first career collegiate goal.

· Vermont held Quinnipiac to zero shots in the first half of action.

· With her goal this afternoon Consu de Castro is now tied for the team lead in scoring with four points.

· St. Michael's transfer Joelle Cameron made her Catamount debut Sunday, tending the net for the fourth quarter.

· Over the last three seasons Vermont has won 12 games by three or more goals.

· With today's Win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to the Ronald McDonald House through the Cat's Win, Community Win's initiative. Vermont Mutual has donated over $6.4 Million Dollars since launching their Charitable Giving Fund.
