REDSHIRT JUNIOR SEASON (2019-20): Started each of his 23 games played … Racked up 16 points and nine boards at Stony Brook … Had a pair of 12-point performances at Binghamton and against New Hampshire … Pulled down 10 rebounds at New Hampshire … Ranked second on the team with 5.0 rebounds per game … Dished out five assists at Hartford … Had eight games with at least 10 points … Had 10 games with at least three assists … Named America East Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Defensive Team

REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE SEASON (2018-19): Played in 33 games … Earned seven starts … Scored a career-high 15 points against Florida State in the NCAA Tournament … Went 3-for-3 from long range against Florida State and George Washington … Hit the double-digit mark in points three times … Gathered a career-high eight boards against Stony Brook … Netted at least three field goals six times … Finished third on the team with a 52.2% field goal percentage … Dished out the fifth-most assists (40) on the team … Ranked fifth on the team with 20 steals … Swatted away six shots

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON (2017-18): Saw action in 22 games for the Cats ... Made his collegiate debut in the home opener against UMaine-Fort Kent and scored a season high 11 points, gathered six rebounds, and handed out two assists in 19 minutes ... Hit 5-of-6 field goal attempts in the home opener against the Bengals ... Recorded a season high six rebounds against New Hampshire ... 

FRESHMAN SEASON (2016-17): Did not see any game action. 

BEFORE VERMONT: Shungu was a two-time Burlington Free Press Mr. Basketball selection and a three-time state champion at Rice Memorial High School ... Shungu averaged 21.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.2 steals per game as a senior and led the Green Knights to their sixth straight appearance in the Division I final at Patrick Gym ... He is the first Rice grad to suit up for the Catamounts since big man Pat Bergmann did so from 2009 to 2012.
