Final Results: Men | Women
BOSTON – The Vermont men's and women's cross country teams competed against more than 40 schools at the 2014 New England Championships on Saturday at Franklin Park. The women finished sixth overall with 258 points, while the men placed 10th with 320 points.

Juniors
Alicia Clark (18:26.62) and
Nikki Braceras (18:27.66) led the women in the varsity 5K race as they placed 41st and 43rd overall for the Catamounts.
Hilary Rawding ran a time of 18:34.53 to finish third on the team and 54th overall, while
Julie Richer (18:36.01) crossed the line just a second and a half later in 58th.

Amber Peirsol earned the fifth spot in the squad on Saturday as she posted a mark of 18:41.47.
Denali Balser (19:17.46) and
Sydney Durand (19:40.64) rounded out the top-7 in the varsity event.

On the men's side,
Dylan Souder had the top performance of the day as the senior ran a time of 24:55.55 for 13th overall in the varsity 8K race.
Dan Moroney crossed the finish line in 25:14.51 and took 39th place, while
Patrick Coppinger posted a mark of 25:22.11 for 55th.
Thomas O'Leary was the fourth finisher for the men with a time of 25:25.64 for 62nd.

Freshman
Noah Bell (26:11.66) and junior
Fletcher Hazlehurst (26:14.07) recorded similar times and were just inside the top-160 overall.
Aaron Lucci ran a time of 26:51.44 to round out the team's top-7 on the afternoon.Â
"The women were tightly packed but we didn't get the low numbers we needed up front, we'll be peaked for America East," said head coach
Matt Belfield. "The men continue to get better, and as Dan re-sharpens and the guys tighten up behind we'll be in the hunt. Dylan ran great today and I'd also like to single out Amber for the women as she ran a tough number five for the women today."
The Catamounts return to action next Friday (Oct. 17) when they travel to Warwick, Rhode Island for the Rothenberg Run, hosted by Brown. The event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. from Goddard State Park.
