CATS OPEN SEASON IN STYLE | Recap
Jonathan Turk scored his first career hat trick as Vermont posted a convincing 6-2 victory over 16th-ranked Northeastern last Saturday in the season opener at Matthews Arena in Hockey East play. The Catamounts used a four-goal second period to blow the game open, and Turk's final goal late in the third period sealed the win. Turk added an assist for a four-point performance, while captain Mike Paliotta also registered four points with a goal and three assists. Mario Puskarich chipped in a goal and two assists on the night, while Alexx Privitera and Kyle Reynolds each collected a pair of assists.

WEEKLY HONORS FOR TURK
Jonathan Turk was named the Warrior Hockey East Player of the Week on Monday following his four-point game at Northeastern. The junior was also recognized as the NCAA No. 1 Star of the Week on Tuesday as he became the first player in the nation to score a hat trick. He has already matched the goal total from each of his first two collegiate seasons. Turk joined radio voice Alastair Ingram on this week's edition of 'Chat with the Cats' (listen here).

Senior Joe Zarbo has four points through two games this year to lead the team. Steve Perry has started both games in net with a .941 SV% after registering a 2.05 GAA and .917 SV% in 23 starts during the 2013-14 campaign.
