BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Vermont men's basketball faces its second MAAC opponent as it faces Siena in the second game of the season opening trip against New York State teams. The game tips off at 7 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 17) the Times Union Center in Albany, New York.
 
The game will be broadcast on the Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and will be available to Time Warner Cable subscribers throughout New York State. The game will also be streamed on a pay-per-view basis at SienaSaints.com. The game can be heard on ESPN 101.3 FM (online: 1013ESPN.com) with A.J. Kanell calling the action.

The Saints were picked to finish 2nd in the MAAC Preseason Poll behind Iona ... Siena won the CBI Championship last season with 81-68 win over Fresno State and finished the season with a 20-18 record last year (11-9 MAAC) ... The Saints fell 95-87 at UMass in their opener on Friday ... Senior Rob Poole scored 19 points, 13 in the second half, in the loss to UMass and junior Brett Bisping, the CBI MVP, fouled out in 22 minutes ... Lavon Long reached double figures for the 20th time with 12 points against the Minutemen.
 
Head coach Jimmy Patsos is in his 11th season as a Division I head coach, second at Siena … He led the Saints to the CBI Championship last season and guided Siena to a 12-win turnaround, tied for the second most in DI ... Patsos and UVM head coach John Becker played together at Catholic University. Patsos is a 1989 grad, Becker graduated in 1990.

This is the 31st meeting between the two teams. Vermont has won four straight (each of the last four years) and 5-of-6 since renewing the rivalry in 2005 … Siena's lone win in the stretch was 1/2/06 - 76-65 … Siena owns a 21-9 advantage in the all-time series … Last year UVM posted a 77-66 win in Jimmy Patsos' first game on the Siena sidelines … Rob Pool led all scorers with 22 points, while Clancy Rugg scored 19 points and led four Catamounts in double-figures … Vermont is 25-10 vs. MAAC schools over the last 10 years.
 
O'DAY CLIMBING THE RANKS
Junior Ethan O'Day picked up three blocks in the loss at Canisius to move into eighth among the all-time leaders at Vermont with 78 rejections for his career ... He needs five more to move into seventh place and into a tie with Taylor Coppenrath '05 (83).
 
WHO'S NEXT
Vermont will close out a stretch of three games in five days when it faces Southern Vermont College in its 2014-15 home opener on Wednesday (Nov. 19) .. The Catamounts will be wearing their gold uniforms as chosen by the fans in the 'U Pick the Uni' contest held earlier this month.
