FINAL SCORE: Vermont 172, Maine 128; Vermont 206, Boston College 94 | Results
ORONO, Maine. – The Vermont swimming and diving team defeated both Maine, 172-128, and Boston College, 206-94, in a tri-meet Saturday at Wallace Pool. The Catamounts improve to 4-1 on the year following the pair of victories.

Rookie
Shannon Cowley set a new UVM freshmen record in the 200 breast, claiming first place in a time of 2:24.08. The freshman also raced to a first-place finish in the 200 IM in 2:12.24.
Maggie Preston swept the diving competition for the third straight meet on her way to posting her top scores of the season in both events. Preston scored 250.35 to register a first-place showing in the 3-meter, and earned a score of 245.50 in the 1-meter to claim victory.

The Catamounts took the top three spots in the 200 back, led by
Ilsa Feierabend's first-place time of 2:09.22.
Jess Gorham finished just behind Feierabend in second place (2:10.72), and
Elena Melloni claimed the third best time in the event (2:10.83). Gorham also earned a victory in the 100 back, clocking in at 59.76 for a first-place showing.

Junior
Christa Weaver earned a pair of individual victories on the afternoon, registering the top spots in the 50 and 100 freestyle events with times of 23.85 and 52.79, respectively.

In the 200 medley relay, the squad of Gorham, Cowley,
Courtney Gray and Weaver swam to a first-place finish in a time of 1:47.60. The Catamounts rounded out the sweep in relay events with a victory in the 200 free relay. The team of
Andie Blaser, Gray,
Sarah Mantz and Weaver clocked in at 1:38.33 to take first place.

Vermont returns to Burlington to host Central Connecticut and Merrimack in a tri-meet on Saturday, November 15 at 2 p.m.
