BURLINGTON, Vt. – Harvard outscored Vermont 14-2 in the second overtime to pull out a 64-52 win in non-conference men's basketball action in front of a season-high crowd of 2,628 at Patrick Gymnasium on Saturday evening. Harvard improves to 6-1, while the Catamounts move to 4-4 on the year.
Wesley Saunders scored a game-high 25 points and Steve Moundou-Missi grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds to lead the Crimson.
Hector Harold scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while
Kurt Steidl added 11 points and
Ethan O'Day chipped in 10 points.
Dre Wills collected a team-high 10 boards for the Catamounts.

Steidl added a layup at the 1:46 mark to give Vermont a 44-41 lead, but Siyani Chambers drained a 3-pointer with 1:06 remaining to tie the game up at 44.
Vermont missed a shot with 36 seconds left and Moundou-Missi's dunk at the other end with one second left bounced off the rim to force overtime.
A jumper by Saunders at the 1:26 mark gave Harvard a 47-46 lead, but Steidl answered with a 3-pointer to shove Vermont back in front, 49-47, with 1:02 left and
Trae Bell-Haynes added a foul shot to push the Catamounts' lead to three with 33 seconds showing.
Corbin Miller knocked down a 3-pointer for Harvard with 16 seconds left to knot the game up at 50 and neither team could find the go-ahead basket in the final seconds.
Miller drained another 3-pointer to open the second overtime period.
Zach McRoberts, making his debut in a Vermont uniform, converted a layup to bring Vermont back within one, 53-52, with 4:08 left, but Harvard held the Catamounts scoreless for the rest of way and put together an 11-0 run to earn the win.
Vermont jumped out to a 13-5 lead to start the game, but the Crimson chipped away and a 3-pointer by Siyani Chambers closed the lead to three at the 12:25 mark, but the Catamounts answered with a 7-2 spurt to push their lead back to eight with just over 10 minutes left in the first half.
Another 3-pointer by Chambers brought the Crimson within two, 20-18, with 5:07 remaining. The Catamounts maintained a slim lead in the closing minutes and headed into the locker room with a 24-21 advantage.
The Catamounts will take a break to complete finals and will return to action on Sunday when Vermont hosts Wagner in a basketball doubleheader on December 14. The two men's teams tipoff the two-game set at 1 p.m. and will be followed by the women's teams at 3:30 p.m.
