ABOUT VERMONTThe Catamounts meet with Northeastern on Saturday will be the first official meet for the squad since the Bucknell Invitational wrapped up on November 23 of last year. Vermont traveled down to Florida for its annual training trip and competed in the Orange Bowl Classic on January 3, where the squad earned a third-place showing, finishing behind Michigan and West Virginia. The Catamounts posted three top-5 finishes at the Orange Bowl, with junior
Andie Blaser leading the way by placing second in the 100-meter fly (1:05.37). Rookie
Shannon Cowley registered a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter breast (1:13.50), and junior
Christa Weaver claimed fourth place in the 50-meter free (26.98) to help lead the squad.

SWIMMER OF THE WEEKAndie Blaser's impressive showing at the Orange Bowl earned her both America East Swimmer of the Week and ECAC Swimmer of the Week honors in back-to-back days. The junior registered Vermont's top individual finish at the Orange Bowl, posting a second-place finish in the 100m fly in 1:05.37. Blaser was also part of UVM's top relay squad that earned a third-place showing in the 200-meter medley with a time of 1:59.20. The two awards were the first two of the season for the Doylestown, Pennsylvania native.

ABOUT NORTHEASTERNThe Huskies enter Saturday's meet with a 4-3 mark on the season after earning a split at last weekend's competition. Northeastern defeated Drexel by a score of 152-147, but fell to Delaware 189-111 at the meet. The Huskies were led by senior Anna Schegoleva, who captured the top spot in both the 100 (57.11) and 200 (2:03.07) backstroke events. Rookie Sara Touchette-McGowan finished first overall in 100 butterfly with a time of 56.94 to help pace the squad.
