BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Vermont men's basketball team hosts Stony Brook at 12 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 10) at Patrick Gymnasium. The game can be heard on ESPN 101.3 FM (online: 1013ESPN.com) with A.J. Kanell calling the action. The game will also be streamed on ESPN3.com and can also be seen on the WatchESPN app.
Vermont moved to 2-0 in America East, 6-8 overall, and snapped a four-game losing streak with a 68-54 win over Maine at the Portland Expo on Wednesday. Stony Brook stands at 10-6 and 1-0 in league play. The Seawolves are coming off a 70-61 at Columbia on Tuesday. Stony Brook posted a 71-61 win over New Hampshire in its league opener on January 3. The Catamounts have won 12 straight America East regular season games dating back to last season.

Ethan O'Day and Dre Wills combined for 29 points and Vermont used a strong second half effort to pull away from Maine to post a 68-54 win at the Portland Expo ... Freshman Trae Bell-Haynes is the second fastest guy on the team, but he's off to a fast start in his career, ranking third in scoring at 9.2 points per game ... He matched his career-high of 17 points in the loss at Saint Louis ... Bell-Haynes' play down the stretch in the second half at Siena was a catalyst to the team's fifth straight win over the Saints ... The last UVM rookie to start their career with a double-digit scoring streak was Mike Trimboli '09 during the 2005-06 season ...
