ABOUT VERMONT
The Catamounts won three straight games over Sacred Heart, Dartmouth, and NJIT to improve to 4-7 (0-0) on the season before falling to Delaware last week (Dec. 22). Vermont's three consecutive victories were a program-best since the 2011-12 season.

UVM ranks third in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage at a clip of 29.3-percent and their defense holds opponents to just 36.8-percent from the field, the second-lowest percentage in America East.

Vermont's defense also blocks more shots than any other team in the conference (45) and ranks among the top-45 in the NCAA. Behind three players who rank among the top-five in America East, UVM averages 4.9 blocks per game. The Catamounts are a force under the basket, grabbing the most offensive rebounds in the conference (146) and second-most defensive rebounds (281).

LAST TIME OUT
Andreana Thomas recorded career-high numbers against Delaware but it was not enough as the Catamounts fell to the Blue Hens 71-60 at the Bob Carpenter Center on Tuesday evening.

Thomas posted a career-high and game-best 26 points, shooting 50-percent (9-for-18) and going 4-for-4 from the foul line. Sydney Smith added 10 points with two 3-pointers and four rebounds.

Vermont played a confident first quarter at the Carpenter Center taking an early 11-9 lead over the Blue Hens. Repeat pull-up jumpers by Erika Brown shifted the advantage to Delaware. The Blue Hens connected on six of their last eight field goals to create a 3-point cushion, up 18-15 to close out the first 10 minutes.

UVM crept closer to Delaware and found itself within three (51-48) with eight minutes left on the clock. Despite the Catamounts closing in on multiple single-possession opportunities, a final UD push in the last five minutes closed the 11-point game in Delaware's favor.

A HOT START FOR HAYLEY
Freshman Hayley Robertson has made a name for herself at UVM in her short time in Burlington. The Toronto, Ontario native is averaging 8.0 ppg, ranks second on the team with 2.5 assists per game, and paces the squad with 15 steals. Robertson has started eight of Vermont's 11 games at guard this season.

ONE MORE TIME FOR THOMAS
Graduate student Andreana Thomas joined the Catamounts for her final season of eligibility after overcoming preseason injuries. The Hofstra transfer has recorded double-figure scoring in seven of her ten games, averaging 13.7 ppg. Thomas is dishing out four assists per game to lead the team and posted a career-high 26 points against Delaware.

TWO OF A KIND
Candice and Courtney Wright have made a significant impact for the Catamounts as true freshmen this season. The Cambridge, Ontario natives are shooting over 40-percent from the field to combine for 128 points, and account for 20-percent of Vermont's 647 total points. The Wrights have been dynamic under the basket as Courtney has grabbed 48 rebounds and Candice has pulled down 47.

CATS IN THE CONFERENCE
Four Catamounts are positioned among the top-5 in five categories in the America East standings. Smith has been a force on both ends of the floor this season as she ranks second the conference in 3-pointers made (27) and has blocked the second-most shots (16).

Smith, Candice Wright and Gracia Hutson rank second, third and fourth in the conference in blocks. Thomas dishes out the fifth-most assists per game (4.0 apg) and has the fifth-best free throw percentage in America East by averaging 79.5-percent from the line (35-for-44).

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
Boston University hosts Vermont with an 0-10 record under second-year head coach Katy Steding. Six players who started 12 or more games last year have returned for the 2015-16 season.

Sarah Hope has been outstanding from long-range as of late. Hope matched her career-high with six three's against UMass Lowell to beat her personal best while matching the school record with seven against Rhode Island.

After missing a game due to injury for the first time in her career, Meghan Green returned against Marist and led the team with 22 points, one shy of her career-high. She leads the team with 11.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY
Vermont owns a 61-54 all-time record against schools in the Patriot League dating back to the 1979 season. Boston University leads the series against Vermont 38-35. When playing in Boston, the Terriers have the edge over Vermont 23-10.

UVM and BU have met twice since Boston University joined the Patriot League, starting in the 2013-14 season. Since Boston's conference switch UVM has fallen during both contests. Their previous matchup was last season in Boston and resulted in a 66-61 Terrier victory.

WHO'S NEXT
Vermont returns home on Wednesday (Dec. 30) for its final matchup of 2015 and one more non-conference game against Oakland at 2 p.m.

Radio coverage begins 20 minutes prior to tip-off on WVMT 620-AM and SportsJuice.com with Jamie Scavatto calling the action. The game can also be viewed for free via AmericaEastTV.
