VERMONT FIELD HOCKEY NOTEBOOKThe University of Vermont field hockey team hosts the 2015 Catamount Classic at Moulton Winder Field this weekend (Sept. 19-20). The 2015 tournament field includes Siena, Cornell and Maine. All four games will be streamed for free via the America East Digital Network at AmericaEast.tv.

Tucker is currently tied for third in the America East Conference in points recording 10 in six games. Starting goalkeeper
Lena Benwood has collected 39 saves this season for a .661 save percentage. Benwood leads the conference in saves averaging 7.8 per game.
SCOUTING CORNELLThe Cornell Big Red own a 2-2 record heading into the Catamount Classic. Sophomore Krysten Mayers leads the pack in points with nine total off four goals and an assist. Kelly Johnson has recorded 217:38 minutes in the cage as Cornell's starting goalkeeper. She has allowed just one goal this season and has posted 11 saves for a .917 save percentage and a 2-1 record.
In their recent matchups on Sept. 11 and Sept. 13, the Big Red shutout Sacred Heart 7-0 and Monmouth 5-0. Cornell ranks second in the Ivy League for goals scored (45) and leads in shutouts (5).
THE SERIESVermont leads the series at 3-0 recording consecutive shutouts. The last meeting between the two teams took place on Sept. 10, 2011 in Burlington and resulted in a 2-0 Catamount victory.
SCOUTING SIENAThe Siena Saints hold a mark of 1-4 on the season. Siena fell to St. Francis and Lock Haven in a two-game home series last weekend. Sage Stebbins and Marie Aloi lead the Saints with four points apiece. Stebbins has notched two goals and Aloi with a goal and two assists. Mary Drabich has been the starting force in the goal recording 350 minutes in five starts. Drabich has allowed 19 goals while gathering 28 saves (.596%).
THE SERIESUVM owns the series 12-1-0 with its single loss dating back to 2002 in Loudonville, N.Y. The Catamounts have allowed just six goals in 13 meetings against the Saints. The teams last met in 2012 which resulted in a 1-0 UVM victory at Moulton Winder Field.
GAMEDAY PROMOTIONSSaturday – Former campers from this summer are invited to the Catamount Classic for UVM's match against Cornell at 11 a.m. for Camper Reunion Day.
Saturday - The first 200 fans to the UVM game will receive a free team poster courtesy of the UPS Store. The players will be available for autographs following the game.
WHO'S NEXTThe Catamounts hit the road for a pair of games against Bryant and Quinnipiac. UVM will face Bryant at Brown on September 25 at 11 a.m. then travel to Quinnipiac for a Sunday game that is scheduled to start at 12 p.m. The following weekend Vermont opens America East play at defending conference champions, Albany. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
