UVM FIELD HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
The University of Vermont field hockey team heads out of town for a pair of road games this weekend. The Catamounts are set for an 11 a.m. matchup in Rhode Island against the Bryant Bulldogs on Friday, Sept. 25 then travel to Hamden, Connecticut to take on Quinnipiac on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 12 p.m.

ABOUT VERMONT
UVM hosted the annual Catamount Classic at Moulton Winder Field last weekend (Sept. 19-20). The Cornell Big Red defeated the Catamounts on Saturday afternoon in a 2-0 decision. The following day, UVM shut out Siena in a 3-0 match on two goals by senior captain Molly Higgins and a third from Anne-Marie Farmer. Vermont's record improved to 2-6 on the season.
 
Starting goalkeeper Lena Benwood leads the conference in saves (48) as Vermont tops the America East in total stops (57). Benwood owns a .686 save percentage. Freshman Lauren Tucker has collected 12 points on the season and is tied for fourth in the America East as she has notched a point in six of eight games.
 
SCOUTING BRYANT
The Bryant Bulldogs hold a 1-7 record for their 2015 campaign. In its most recent contest last Sunday (Sept. 20), Bryant was downed by Dartmouth 3-2. The Bulldogs opened their season with matchups against America East schools Pacific, UC Davis and Stanford going 0-3.
 
Freshman Marissa Elizardo is starting in the cage for the Bulldogs owning a .667 save percentage and has collected 32 saves. Victoria Danby, a junior out of Lancaster, Massachusetts tops the squad with 20 points on nine goals and a pair of assists. Danby has netted nine of Bryant's 16 goals.
 
THE SERIES
This contest marks the first meeting between the Vermont Catamounts and Bryant Bulldogs.
 
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
The Quinnipiac Bobcats have posted a 2-6 record with wins against Yale (Sept. 6) and Holy Cross (Sept. 22) in their latest matchup. Quinnipiac is 0-2 versus America East opponents Maine and UMass Lowell.
 
Megan Conaboy is the starting Bobcat in goal. Conaboy has made 51 stops this season for a .718 save percentage in 490 minutes in the net. Michelle Federico and Savanna Reilly each own a pair of Quinnipiac's nine goals. Federico leads the squad with two goals and four assists for eight points.
 
THE SERIES
Quinnipiac has an undefeated 4-0 record in the series against UVM. The last meeting took place in Burlington last season (Sept. 21, 2014) and concluded in a 3-2 loss for Vermont.
 
WHO'S NEXT
The Catamounts travel to reigning America East champions Albany to open conference play. The contest will take place on Friday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. All conference games will be streamed for free via AmericaEast.tv.
