RESULTS: Men | WomenHANOVER, N.H. – The University of Vermont men's track & field team finished in second place with 51 points at the Dartmouth multi-team meet in Hanover, New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon. The women's team finished in third earning 35 points.

Fletcher Hazlehurst was the champion of the men's one-mile event as the senior ran a time of 4:15.31 followed by
Dan Moroney in third place at 4:18.31. Hazlehurst also finished third in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:58.69.

Thomas O'Leary took second overall in the 1000-meter run just .30 seconds behind the top finisher in a time of 2:31.60. Freshman
Taylor Kracher earned second-place points for the Catamounts in the 500-meter run with a final's time of 1:07.30, and classmate
Allen Vance narrowly claimed third with a mark of 1:03.33.

Vermont claimed the first and second spots in the men's 60-meter dash event as
Romario Bailey finished in 7.08 seconds for the top spot and rookie
Ahmed Noor in second place at the 7.14 second mark. Bailey earned Vermont points in the 200-meter dash finals as well, claiming third in a time of 22.89 seconds.

Vermont's 4x800-meter relay team of Vance, O'Leary, Kracher and
Patrick Coppinger claimed victory by more than 15 seconds with a time of 8:06.40.

In the field, Vermont rookie
Kevin Desmond won the triple jump event with a 12.37 meter mark, and
Ian Weider earned second-place points for the Catamounts with a 7.07 meter jump.

On the women's side, freshmen
Lauren Trumble and
Katie Nolan claimed second and third place in the one-mile run finishing in a time of 5:16.92 and 5:19.05, respectively. Distance specialist
Smita Boesch-Dining earned third place in the women's 800-meter run at the 2:25.26 mark.

Hilary Rawding was the 1000-meter champion collecting first-place points for Vermont in a time of 2:59.92.
Amber Peirsol finished the 3000-meter run event in third with a time of 10:18.16.

The Catamounts joined the men in winning the women's 4x800-meter relay as the team of freshmen
Autumn Albrecht, Trumble, Nolan, and
Samantha Sayer ran a time of 9:53.34. Junior
Mallory Honan was the long jump champion finishing with a mark of 5.56 meters.
Vermont returns to action next Friday (Jan. 22) with a trip to Boston for the Joe Donahue Indoor Games, hosted by Northeastern. The event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
