LAST TIME OUT | Northeastern HighlightsVermont fell to the Northeastern Huskies by a narrow 155-145 final on Monday during Senior Day at Forbush Natatorium. It marked the Catamounts' first home loss in four meets this season. Prior to the dual meet, UVM honored the five members of its senior class:
Diane Brown,
Gabrielle Logozzo,
Elena Melloni,
Maggie Preston, and
Christa Weaver. UVM won a total of seven events against the Huskies in the narrow defeat.

CATS SWEEP WEEKLY AWARDSShannon Cowley (Swimmer of the Week) and
Maggie Preston (Diver of the Week) swept the America East weekly awards on Tuesday. Cowley had a strong performance in three individual events against Northeastern on Monday. The sophomore won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.60) by five seconds and the 200-yard IM (2:12.30), and was second in the 100 breast in 1:06.67.

Preston continued her standout season on Senior Day against the Huskies by sweeping both diving events for the Catamounts at Forbush Natatorium. She collected 253.12 points in the 3-meter event and 252.74 in the 1-meter. Preston, the reigning America East Most Outstanding Diver, won the league's Diver of the Week award for the fourth time this season.
ABOUT RHODE ISLANDThe Rams enter the weekend at 2-5 after falling to Wagner last Saturday by a score of 170-126. Rhode Island took five of the top eight spots in the 200 free, led by Lauren Folkert who won the event in a time of 1:56.94. Carly DeLiberty and Porshe' Ferrell took the top two spots in the 100 free, with DeLiberty finishing just three-tenths of a second ahead of Ferrell. URI finished ninth at last year's Atlantic 10 Championships. UVM defeated the Rams 174-123 last season in Burlington.

WHO'S NEXTVermont hits the road for the Middlebury Invitational next weekend on Jan. 29-30 for its final tune up before the America East Championships. Events are schedule to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday at Middlebury Natatorium.
