ABOUT VERMONTThe Catamounts (4-5, 1-0) have won two of their last three matchups, including their conference opener on Saturday against UMass Lowell, heading into Tuesday's contest. Vermont has scored the seventh-most goals this season (108) in the NCAA, averaging 12.0 scores on nearly 40 shots per game.

Ian MacKay recorded back-to-back career games against Hofstra and UMass Lowell last week. With his seventh multi-point showing of the season, the junior is now tied for ninth in program history for career points scored (139) and leads the conference in goals per game (2.88). MacKay is currently on a 38-game point streak, while also averaging 4.22 points per game on the year.

Classmate
Cam Milligan also posted career-best showings last week. The Peterborough, Ontario native is now tied for seventh all-time in career assists (56) at Vermont. Milligan's 56 assists rank 18th among active players in the country and fourth among juniors after just 29 appearances for UVM. With 30 points this season, he averages 3.75 points per game and dishes out the 14th-most assists in the NCAA (2.13) each contest.

Freshman
Dawes Milchling was tabbed conference Rookie of the Week for the third time in six weeks after his after his five-point output in two games last week. Milchling ranks 10th among all freshman in the nation in points per game (2.78) and third on the team with 25 points in nine appearances for the Catamounts.

Jon Kaplan also picked up a conference weekly award, as the goalie was named Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Kaplan recorded double-figure save efforts in back-to-back matchups in net for the Catamounts. The junior posted 11 saves against the No. 19 Hofstra Pride and 12 versus UMass Lowell to combine for 23 in two games for a .550 save percentage. Kaplan has posted double-figure showings between the pipes in four of his seven appearances to tally 67 total saves this season.

Keenan Koswin registered a team-best five points on two goals and three assists for UMass Lowell. Lane Austin posted a hat trick and added an assist, while Brandon Luitwieler (2g) and Sean Tyrrell (2a) recorded multi-point efforts. Freshman Grant Lardieri picked up 12 saves in goal for UML.

UVM jumped out to an early 6-2 lead over the River Hawks after the first quarter, as five different Catamounts put points on the board in 15 minutes. Koswin and Luitwieler added goals to chip away at Vermont's advantage and UML closed out the half trailing UVM 7-4.

The River Hawks found themselves within two scores of Vermont (10-8) with 10:29 remaining.
Braiden Davis netted his fifth career goal with two minutes to play and sealed the Catamounts' first America East victory of the 2016 campaign.

Both teams won 11 faceoffs on the afternoon, while the final shots favored Vermont 38-31. The Catamounts picked up 27 ground balls in the contest and capitalized on three of six extra man opportunities.

SCOUTING DARTMOUTHThe Big Green comes to Burlington with a 1-6 (0-1) record on the season, with its lone win coming in a 13-12 victory at Michigan on March 19. In its most recent matchup on Saturday, Darmouth fell to Ivy League foe No. 14/15 Harvard by a score of 18-8 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Dartmouth is posting 7.29 goals per game on a .233 shot percentage, while its offense is led by Wiley Osborne. Osborne has registered a team-high 24 points on 16 goals and eight assists in his seven appearances for the Big Green.

Goalie Blair Friedensohn has played the majority of the minutes in the cage for the Big Green, while also earning every decision (1-6). Friedensohn owns a 10.81 goal against average with a .460 save percentage.

Don Stephan has taken the majority of the faceoffs for Dartmouth this year, winning 57-of-117 (.487) trips to the X.
