BOSTON – Anna Kaplan,
Dan Moroney and
Ian Weider were all named to the America East Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team as the conference announced its honorees for the 2015-16 season. Kaplan and Moroney both earned All-Academic honors after the 2015 cross country season, while Weider was a conference champion and captained the men's track & field team during the indoor season.

During her first year competing in indoor track & field, Kaplan claimed fourth place in the women's 5000-meter race at the conference meet in a time of 17:18.64 to earn her second All-Academic honor this year. She also took 17
th in the 3000-meter at the New England Indoor Championships. An exercise and movement science major, the sophomore maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA and was a Commissioner's Honor Roll selection last year as a rookie.

Moroney has been an All-Academic honoree in cross country the last two seasons. He has also been named to the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll in three consecutive years (2013-15). The senior placed second overall at the America East Indoor Championships in the 5K event (14:36.25) and was named to the All-Conference team. Moroney maintains a 3.73 GPA with a major in medical laboratory science and is set to graduate in May.

A 2014 America East Academic Honor Roll member, Weider was named to the track & field All-Academic squad for the first time in his career. The junior captain took first overall in the men's long jump event at back-to-back America East Championships (2015 outdoor, 2016 indoor) earning All-Conference honors. He finished in second place in the long jump with a mark of 7.35m at New England's, also earning All-New England honors. Weider boasts a 3.56 GPA in business administration.
To be eligible for the All-Academic student-athletes must have sophomore athletic eligibility, attain a 3.30 minimum grade-point average and a be a significant contributor on their team. The squad is voted on by a committee made up of America East student-athlete support and athletic communications administrators as well as faculty athletic representatives.
