BOSTON – The America East Conference announced the Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic team on Thursday, which included six Catamounts.

Anna Kaplan, who posted a perfect 4.0 as an exercise and movement sciences major, represented the UVM women's squad. Kaplan, a sophomore distance runner, also earned a spot on the America East Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Team during the winter.
The Vermont men's team was represented by five Catamounts.
Isaac de La Bruere, an all-conference javelin thrower, posted a 3.62 GPA as biology major. He was honored with the prestigious Class of '67 Award at UVM's Commencement ceremonies.
Fletcher Hazlehurst recorded a 3.65 GPA as a computer science major. He earned America East All-Conference honors during the indoor in the 3,000 meters.
Dan Moroney, a member of the America East Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team, was a nominee for the America East Man of the Year. He registered a 3.83 GPA as a medical laboratory sciences major and was named to the CoSIDA District I All-Academic First Team for track and field last month. Moroney, a distance runner, earned America East, ECAC/IC4A and New England All-Conference honors in the 3,000 and 5,000 meter events.
Thomas O'Leary was named to the all-academic team after posting a 3.82 GPA as a biology major. He was a member of UVM's distance medley relay team that placed first at the IC4A Championships, as well as the 4x800 relay team that won the New England Indoor Track & Field Championship. Moroney earned spots on the America East, ECAC/IC4A and New England All-Conference teams during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Ian Weider, the America East Long Jump Champion during both the indoor and outdoor season, earned all-academic honors for the second time this season with a 3.30 GPA as a business administration major. Weider was named to the America East, ECAC/IC4A and New England All-Conference honors during the year. He went on to earn a spot in the NCAA Regionals for the first time in his career.
To be eligible for the All-Academic student-athletes must have sophomore athletic eligibility, attain a 3.30 minimum grade-point average and a be a significant contributor on their team. The squad is voted on by a committee made up of America East student-athlete support and athletic communications administrators as well as faculty athletic representatives.
