BURLINGTON, Vt. –
Landon Warren scored twice and
Carla Godsman recorded her second goal of the season in overtime as the Vermont field hockey team earned a 3-2 win over La Salle on Sunday afternoon at Moulton Winder Field.

The Catamounts are now 2-0 on the young season, while La Salle drops to 1-1 following the loss.
UVM got on the board in the 27th minute when Warren corralled her own rebound at the corner of the circle, poking the ball past Explorers goalkeeper Rachel Hartman.
La Salle evened the score at one apiece in the 44th minute when Katie O'Grady was awarded a penalty stroke, ultimately finding the back of the cage for her first goal of the season.
The Explorers took a 2-1 lead in the 58th minute. Devin Muracco sent a pass towards Abbey Lawrence, who shifted to the center of the circle and put a shot home.
After several opportunities, the Catamounts netted the equalizer in the 69th minute. Godsman sent a lead pass along the far sideline to Warren, who spun around a defender, dribbled into the circle and fired a shot past Hartman to tie the score at two.
The Explorers had one final chance in the waning seconds of regulation when Kendall Kreider received a pass in the circle, eventually taking a shot, but Vermont keeper
Lena Benwood was able to turn aside the attempt.
UVM sealed the victory in the extra period when Godsman played a rebound off of a shot by
Greer Wilson and sent the ball into the back of the cage for her second goal of the season.
Benwood finished the afternoon with nine saves, while Hartman tallied four stops for La Salle. Vermont's
Olivia Hurd also chipped in a defensive save in the 44th minute.
The Catamounts now prepare for their first road trip of the season, facing Providence College on Friday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m.
