"We really wanted to get on top of the game early, and I give Bernard and Brian a lot of credit," said head coach
Jesse Cormier. "There are some things we could have done better, and we're going to need to be better on Sunday for us to be successful against LIU Brooklyn."
Wright was the catalyst on a pair of early Yeboah goals in the game's opening nine minutes. Five and a half minutes into the match, Wright slid a pass from near the end line across the penalty box to Yeboah, who tapped in a first-time effort from the top of the six. Defender
Arthur Bacquet picked up a secondary assist on the play after springing Wright down the right flank.
Â
Three minutes later, Yeboah flicked a header from Wright's long throw over the head of Pioneer keeper Robert Strain into the left corner of the net. The tally marked Yeboah's fifth goal of the season and his second multi-goal game in the first three contests.
Â
Vermont weathered a brief spurt of Sacred Heart pressure in the second half and grabbed an insurance goal in the 70
th minute.
Loftur Eriksson nodded down a Jon Arnar Barðdal corner into the goalmouth, and Wright pounced to knock the loose ball across the goal line. The goal was Wright's third in as many games and gave the senior a four-point night and three-game scoring streak.
Â
UVM limited the Pioneers to five shots on the night, and
Eric Venezia was called upon to make just one save for his second career shutout. Strain stopped four shots for the Pioneers.
The Catamounts finished the evening with a 15-5 advantage in shots, including a 7-1 margin in the first half. Wright and Yeboah have amassed eight goals and four assists over the first three games.
