BURLINGTON, Vt. - Field hockey senior goalkeeper
Lena Benwood, a mechanical engineering major, is our TD Bank Student-Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Oct. 15.
Benwood backboned Vermont's 1-0 double-overtime victory against New Hampshire on Sunday with eight saves en route to her third shutout of the season. The British Columbia native moved into a tie for ninth all-time in program history with her sixth career clean sheet.
Benwood totaled 12 saves over the two game weekend and ranks 24th in country with her 5.71 saves per game.
Next up for the Cats is a trip to #20 Albany on Friday before returning home to take on Maine on Oct. 27.
