GEORGETOWN, Guyana – UVM field hockey freshman goalkeeper
Sierra Espeland and the U.S. Women's National Indoor Team defeated host Guyana 7-1 on Thursday night at the 2017 Women's Indoor Pan American Cup. The victory pushed Team USA into the lead for overall points.

Espeland got her first taste of international action with Team USA in the second half. With the U.S. leading 5-1, the Stafford, Virginia native relieved starter Samantha Carlino and kept Guyana off the scoreboard for the remainder of the match. The Indoor USWNT improved to 5-0 during round-robin play and has outscored its opponents 31-6.
