ABOUT VERMONT
The Catamounts won three events last Saturday in their relay meet against Vermont schools St. Michael's and Norwich at Forbush Natatorium. SeniorsÂ
Stefi Geiger,Â
Kira Hancock, andÂ
Kelly Lennon will serve as captains for the 2017-18 season. UVM has placed third in the last five America East Championships and has broken the school record for points in two of the last three years. Last year, the Cats defended their conference title in the 200 free relay and posted six additional All-Conference performances from three swimmers.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Binghamton finished last season with a record of 4-5 and placed fifth at the America East Championships with 364.5 points in February. The Bearcats bring back their team MVP from last season in Courtney Foley along with Abby Koerwitz, who broke the freshman and school record in the 100 backstroke at the 2017 championship meet. 2007 UVM graduate Brad Smith is the head coach at Binghamton and begins his fourth year at the helm. Smith was a four-year letterwinner for the Catamounts and also served as the Director of Operations and the men's club team coach.
WHO'S NEXT
Next Saturday (Oct. 14), Vermont travels to Durham for a dual meet against America East rival New Hampshire at 11 a.m.
