BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Catamounts were dominant from start to finish on Saturday, earning a 169-111 America East victory over Maine at Forbush Natatorium in the team's annual Rally Against Cancer Meet presented by Otter Creek Awnings and Vermont Custom Closets.

UVM improves to 3-2 and 3-1 in conference meets, while Maine falls to 1-1 (0-1 AE).

Vermont began the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:46.99 with the team of
Jess Gorham,
Shannon Cowley,
Dani Rocheleau, and
Kira Hancock.
Kelly Lennon followed by taking the 1000-yard freestyle by nearly five seconds over teammate
Kristina Posnick with a winning time of 10:41.20, and later won the 500 free in 5:15.55.

Cowley led the way individually on Saturday, claiming both the 100 breast (1:05.48) and 200 breast (2:25.56), with
Haley Gula collecting second place in the 100 in 1:06.97. Hancock also claimed victory in a pair of individual events as she won the 50 free (24.50) and 100 free (53.63), the latter over
Sierra Sexton and
Emily McCormack.

Rocheleau (1:55.47), Sexton (1:56.96), and
Maddie Strasen (1:58.31) swept the top three spots in the 200 free. Gorham then swam the 100 back in less than a minute to win the event for the Catamounts, and
Morgan Montgomery was the champion of the 200 back in 2:07.24.

Alexy Novelli posted a time of 2:09.91 to win the 200 butterfly with
Julia DeGregorio (2:12.65) in third, while freshman
Vivian Nguyen finished second in the 100 fly with a mark of 59.50.

UVM took both diving events over the Black Bears with
Ashley Branagan posting the top score of 227.70 in the 3-meter and
Emily Murphy registering 238.72 in the 1-meter.
