SETTING THE SCENE
Vermont holds a 19-5 overall record and looking to keep pace with the 2004-05 team for the best mark through 25 games. The 19-win Cats have more victories than eight teams in this week's AP Top-25 Poll. With one more win, UVM will record its ninth straight 20-win season and sixth under head coach
John Becker. The bench boss would become one of only six active head coaches with a 20-win season in each of their first six seasons as a Division I coach. Vermont has one of the best shooting teams in the country at 48.9% - good enough for the 18th-best percentage. The green and gold hold the 26th-best scoring defense in the land by surrendering 63.6 points per game to their opponents.
