BURLINGTON, VT — Vermont defeated Stonehill 77-61 on Saturday afternoon at Patrick Gym. Gus Yalden led the Catamounts with a team-high 23 points.

We did a lot of good things, but we shot poorly from the free-throw line down the stretch. HOW IT HAPPENED

• Gus Yalden opened with a layup, Will Davies hit a three-pointer off a Yalden assist, Noah Barnett added a jumper, and Darrel Yepdo scored five points, giving Vermont a 12-6 lead at the first media timeout.
• Gus Yalden scored two layups, Momo Nkugwa hit a three-pointer off a Khalil Badru assist, and Noah Barnett added a layup to extend Vermont's lead to 21-14.
• In the last three seconds of the half, Darrel Yepdo made a layup to put Vermont up 40-24 going into halftime
• In the first three minutes of the second half, Gus Yalden scored two layups off Will Davies assists and a jumper off a John Broom assist, extending the Catamounts lead to 46-24. 
• Gus Yalden scored a driving layup to extend Vermont's lead to 51–29 with 15 minutes remaining in the second half.
• Momo Nkugwa added a dunk off a John Broom assist. At the 12-minute media timeout, Vermont lead 57–35.
• Darrel Yepdo hit a three-pointer off a Will Davies assist, Momo Nkugwa added a dunk off a John Broom assist, John Broom made a three-pointer off a Davies assist, and Gus Yalden scored a hook shot to extend Vermont's lead to 69-54 with four minutes remaining in the game.
