NABC Release
NABC districts are divided by athletic conferences. District I is comprised of programs in America East and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
Bell-Haynes had an impressive junior campaign for the Catamounts. He ranked third on the team with an 11.2 points per game average at season's end. In conference play, he posted 12.3 points per game and dealt 4.1 assists per contest. Among the league leaders, he closed out the year in fifth place with 65 assists and sat in 10th place with a 48.1% field goal percentage against league rivals. The Toronto, Ontario native also became the sixth Catamount to win America East Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Conference honors. He eclipsed the 1,000-career point mark in UVM's 71-64 win at Stony Brook on Jan. 28. In his NCAA Tournament debut, Bell-Haynes dropped 15 points, seven rebounds, and six assists on Big Ten powerhouse Purdue.
Lamb adds another accolade to his already decorated postseason. The 6-6 forward won the Most Outstanding Player award of the America East Tournament, earned America East Rookie of the Year honors, and was named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District I Team. The USBWA District I region consists of schools in New England. Lamb also landed on the All-Conference Second Team and All-Rookie Team. The freshman led the team in scoring and rebounding with 12.8 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per contest. Lamb recorded three double-doubles in his first season at Vermont, including 12 points and 10 rebounds in the America East Championship. He welcomed the NCAA Tournament with open arms by posting a team-high 20 points and nine rebounds against the fourth-seeded Boilermakers.
Vermont finished the season with a 29-6 record after setting the conference and program records for total victories. UVM had the longest winning streak (21) in the nation and captured its sixth America East Championship. The Cats also became the first team ever to sweep the league's major awards.
