SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Vermont Athletic Department hosted its annual Catamount Golf Classic presented by Baker Distributing on Monday, June 19 at Vermont National Country Club in South Burlington. The shotgun scramble tournament raised $9,323 (net), which will be used for student-athlete scholarships in an effort to continually enhance the student-athlete experience. The athletic department would like to thank all the golf participants and tee sponsors that helped make the day such a success.

Each golfer received a custom V-Cat golf head cover, provided by Select Design, and a '47 Brand Catamount hat. On the course, Steve Gentile sponsored a $10,000 cash prize for hole in one prizing and Sheraton Burlington hosted a tee party with games and prizes. Coaches and athletic staff members were on hand throughout the day and assisted with delivering beverages (donated by Baker Distributing and Coca-Cola) to golfers during their round. Lunch was provided to golfers upon arrival by Kountry Kart Deli.

Jeff Schulman '89, who shared information on the upcoming proposed facility enhancements, and incoming Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Chair Kelly Lennon '18 (women's swimming) also spoke to the participants about what their support means to student-athletes. A buffet was served and silent auction items included autographed items from the Boston Celtics, Connor McDavid, Braden Holtby, and Shayne Gostisbehere as well as New York Giants tickets (provided by Tony Cairns), a stay at the Asticou Inn (Northeast Harbor Maine), a stay at the Lenox Hotel Boston, half hour golf lessons from Libby Smith '02 (women's basketball and golf), Red Sox tickets, a St. Louis Blues Experience with Team President Chris Zimmerman '81 (men's hockey), a Coke cooler provided by Coke, and TaylorMade M1 Driver and TP5 golf balls.
Individual contest winners included Chris Waterman and Sandy Walsh receiving gift certificates to Nectar's for Closest to the Pin. Kevin Bushway and Brenda Farrell each received a $50 Windjammer gift card for the longest drive competition.
Foursome prizing was provided by Vermont National Country Club. First, second and third place honors for the tournament went to:

Third place net – Kevin Bushway, Dave Duncan, Yves Goulet, and Connor Irish
