COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Vermont freshman goalkeeper
Sierra Espeland, of Stafford, Virginia, has been named to the United States Women's National Team that will compete at the Women's Indoor Pan-American Cup. The seven-team tournament will take place in Georgetown, Guyana from Monday, Oct. 16 through Saturday, Oct. 21.

Kate Pfeifer. "Her UVM family is incredibly proud and we are excited to support her as she represents the United States in Guyana!"
Team USA will be coached by Jun Kentwell. The 12-member team is made up of eight Pennsylvania natives, two from Virginia and one apiece from Maryland and Maine.
"I'd like to thank Coach Kentwell for giving me the amazing opportunity to play for my country," said Espeland. "I'd also like to thank Coach Pfeifer, my parents and coaches for supporting me."
The tournament will follow a round robin format before entering the crossover rounds on Saturday, Oct. 21. The Continental Qualifier winner will advance to the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup in Berlin, Germany in 2018.
