FIELD HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
Vermont (6-8, 3-2 AE) concludes non-conference play this Friday (Oct. 19) as hosts against Colgate (2-12, 0-5 Patriot). The Rally Around Mental Health match is slated to begin at 4 p.m. on Moulton Winder Field. On Sunday (Oct. 21), the Cats host conference rival New Hampshire (3-10, 1-4 AE) in the Military Appreciation Game, presented by Milton Cat.

MILITARY APPRECIATION
Sunday's matchup against New Hampshire is Military Appreciation Day presented by Milton Cat. Field hockey team members wrote letters to active military members to show their appreciation to all the men and women in our armed services.

CALIFORNIA CATS
Jackie Gillen's double overtime winner in Lowell clinched an America East playoff berth for the Catamounts. The Class of 2019 will make its second trip to the tournament and first since 2015. It is just the second time in the last decade UVM has earned a spot in the postseason tournament.

This year's conference tournament is hosted by Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. The quarterfinals begin on Thursday, Nov. 1 and run through the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 4.

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate enters Friday's game with a 2-12 overall record and 0-5 mark in Patriot league play. After winning its opening two games of the season, the Raiders have dropped 12 straight, scoring 11 goals in that span.

Sophomore Nora Mulroy leads the team in goals (6) and points (12). Freshman Anna Unger has started 12 games in goal for Colgate. She holds a 3.59 goals against average and .654 save percentage.
INSIDE THE SERIES
After meeting annually for 20 consecutive years (1981-2001), Vermont and Colgate have met just once since (2011). The Cats have won the last three meetings but the Raiders hold a 12-7-3 all-time series lead.

Nearly half of all meetings have gone into overtime (10-of-21). Colgate holds a 5-2-3 record in overtime games against UVM.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
New Hampshire enters the weekend with a 3-10 overall record and 1-4 mark in America East play. The Wildcats are looking for their first road win of the season against Vermont on Sunday.

Freshman Finn Caron and junior Bailey Fanikos are tied for the UNH lead in goals (4) and points (8). Senior Kelsey Rudert has started 11 games in goal, posting a 2.75 goals against average and .650 save percentage.
INSIDE THE SERIES
UNH holds a commanding 33-7 series lead over the Catamounts, winning 21 of the first 23 meetings from 1982-2004.

Earlier this season, Vermont won its first game in Durham since the 2006 season. On Sunday, the Catamounts will look for their third straight win over the Wildcats, which would match the program's longest streak (2005-07). Â
