CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College Eagles (2-5-0, 2-1-0 HEA) jumped to a 3-0 lead in the opening period and took a 4-1 final over the Vermont Catamounts (3-4-0, 1-3-0 HEA) Thursday night at Conte Forum.

"I certainly give BC credit," head coach Kevin Sneddon said. "They played a strong game and their speed gave us a lot of difficulty. They were stronger on their sticks. They got after a lot of pucks. We didn't and that was disappointing."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Eagles scored on the game's first power play 6:04 of the first period. Julius Matilla found the loose puck on the back door and buried the puck into the open net with assists from David Cotton and Logan Hutsko. Christopher Brown doubled the BC lead less than a minute later with assists from Jack McBain and Graham McPhee.
• Oliver Wahlstrom scored his second of the season at 14:42 of the first period to make it 3-0 Eagles.
• The Catamounts made it 4-1 off of Ace Cowans' stick for a brief moment early in the third period, but an official's review took the goal off the board.
• Joey Cipollone scored his third of the season at 16:28 of the final period off an Eagle turnover to make it 4-1. Matt Alvaro and Derek Lodermeier assisted on the freshman's goal.
• Stefanos Lekkas made 38 saves on the night while his Eagle counterpart, Joseph Woll, recorded 29 saves.
• BC went 1-for-2 on the man advantage while the Catamounts went 0-for-5 on power play chances.
