WORCESTER, Mass. – The Vermont swimming diving team completed competition at the Gompei Invitational on Sunday, finishing the three-day invite fourth of 15 women's teams with 1,835.5 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sierra Sexton finished seventh in the 100 free with a time of 54.18. Teammate Sophia Smith took 17th in the B-final with a time of 55.00.
- Morgan Montgomery (2:09.16) took eighth and Kira Parker (2:12.72) finished 16th in the 200 back final. Kendall Ware rounded out Vermont's top-3 in the event with a time of 2:13.81, placing 19th.
- Maddy Kovacs and Kristina Posnick took seventh and eighth in the 500 free with respective times of 5:13.52 and 5:14.94.
- Senior Haley Gula took sixth in the 100 IM with a time of 1:01.65. Peyton Lienhart (1:02.83) finished 12th and Vivian Nguyen (1:04.51) finished 17th.
- Gula finished third in the 50 breast with a time of 30.93. Leinhart finished 15th with a time of 32.31 and Sara Meyer finished 17th with a time of 32.75.
- Captain Julia DeGregorio placed sixth in the 200 fly with a time of 2:11.12. Katie Rivers finished 12th overall with a mark of 2:12.12.
- The 400 free relay team of Sexton, Smith, Parker, and Amelia Baxley finished sixth with a time of 3:37.10.
UP NEXT
The Catamounts travel to Florida for their annual training trip over the holidays. Vermont returns to competition on Jan. 12 when they face Northeastern in Boston at 1 p.m.
