Luke Petela finished sixth in the 5,000-meter and senior
Will Hopkins took eighth in the 10,000-meter to earn All-New England honors Friday evening at the 2018 New England Outdoor Championships, hosted by Dartmouth.

Petela posted a mark of 14:51.65 to take sixth and earn the first regional honor of his career. He shaved almost four full seconds off his previous personal best, set earlier this season at Albany.
Hopkins (31:10.56) posted the sixth-fastest time in UVM history en route to regional honors, the first of his career.
Dan DeBlieck took first in the 400-meter hurdles preliminary with a time of 52.93s. He will compete in the 400-meter hurdles finals at 3 p.m. tomorrow. In the women's race,
Alex May Curtis finished 13th overall with a time of 1:05.06 and
Julia Nugent finished 14th with a time of 1:05.18.
In the men's 110-meter hurdles, freshman
DJ Snide placed 12th with a time of 15.41s.
Justin Liechty placed 10th in the 400-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 49.15s.
Samantha Sayer took ninth in the women's 5,000-meter with a time of 17:08.73. She took over 11 seconds off her previous best of 17:20.14, set at the 2018 ECAC Indoor Championships in early March. Her mark was over 15 seconds faster than her previous outdoor best.
Maggie Hallahan took 14th in the 5,000-meter with a time of 17:35.88 and
Sunny Nagpaul finished 16th overall with a time of 17:47.46, both personal bests.
In the 10,000-meter,
Toni Rabasco led the Catamount contingent in 15th with a time of 39:03.99.
In the field,
Alex Parasky posted a mark of 6.32m (20-9) in the long jump.
Over two dozen Catamounts compete throughout the day tomorrow with the 3,000-meter steeplechase kicking off the track portion of competition at noon. The women's shot put, featuring
Morgan Ferland, also begins at noon.
