HINGHAM, Mass. - Former UVM men's lacrosse two-time All-American
Ian MacKay '18 posted a goal and an assist on Saturday night in his Major League Lacrosse (MLL) debut for the Chesapeake Bayhawks in a 14-11 come-from-behind road win over the Boston Cannons.

MacKay, who is back in Vermont today to graduate with a degree in public communication, netted his first professional goal in the third quarter as the Bayhawks came out of halftime trailing 8-4. The midfielder later assisted on a goal which tied the game at 11 with five minutes left in the fourth.
The Ontario native was the 13th overall pick in the 2018 MLL Collegiate Draft by the five-time MLL champion Bayhawks. MacKay led Vermont in goals (39), assists (20), and points (59) this past season and passed Craig Mygatt '88 for the most goals in program history, finishing his illustrious career with exactly 150. MacKay closed his collegiate career third all-time with 230 points and fourth all-time with 80 assists.
Following his senior campaign, he was named to the All-America East, All-ECAC and All-New England First Team, and was also tabbed an Inside Lacrosse Third Team All-American. He became the school's first America East Offensive Player of the Year in 2016.
