BOSTON - Senior distance runner
Anna Kaplan was named to the America East All-Academic Team for the outdoor track & field season on Wednesday morning, marking her second straight year on the squad.

Kaplan maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA and earned her degree over the weekend in exercise and movement science while competing in cross country and track & field. She was the recipient of the 2018 Wasson Athletic Prize, which is presented at the Rally Awards to the senior student-athlete who has demonstrated a high level of athletic achievement and has maintained the highest standard of academic scholarship.
Kaplan won the America East Elite 17 Award after finishing fourth in the 5000-meter at the 2017 America East Indoor Championships. She was also the Elite 18 Award recipient at both the America East Cross Country Championships and the America East Outdoor Championships during her senior campaign. The Elite Award Program honors the highest achievement in academics and athletics by a student-athlete in each America East sponsored sport.
Kaplan led the team and was an All-Conference performer with 14th place at the America East Cross Country Championships, which were hosted by UVM in St. Albans. She served as a team captain and closed her career as a three-time All-Academic honoree in cross country. Kaplan has earned a spot on the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll during every season of her standout career.
