BOSTON - 10 senior student-athletes from the University of Vermont have been named America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes for their outstanding academic achievements throughout their collegiate careers.
A conference-high 77 America East student-athletes received the honor this year, and Vermont was tied for second in the league for total honorees.
The award recognizes graduating student-athletes who compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher as an undergraduate student and earned their undergraduate degrees this year. All 10 were recognized at last month's Rally Awards presented by Xfinity.
In addition to registering a 3.75 GPA for their college career, honored student-athletes must have received their undergraduate degree in the academic year they are honored and have attended their institution for a minimum of two years.
