The University of Vermont Catamounts (3-4) travel south to take on Monmouth (3-5) on Friday (Sept. 21) afternoon before continuing to Philadelphia to take on the La Salle Explorers (3-4, 0-1 A10) on Sunday (Sept. 23).

The match against Monmouth is slated to begin at 4 p.m. in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The game will air on ESPN3 with Greg Mescall and Suzi Mellano on the call. Sunday's match with La Salle is slated to begin at 12 p.m. with live stats available using the link below.

Sophomore goalie
Sierra Espeland earned America East Co-Defensive Player of the Week following her 2-0 weekend in the 2018 Catamount Classic.

The Stafford, Virginia native tallied 11 saves in the two games while only allowing one goal in each contest. It is the first weekly honor of Espeland's career.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Monmouth enters Friday's contest against Vermont with a 3-5 overall record. The Hawks have three losses against ranked opponents: St. Joseph's, Michigan, and Princeton. Monmouth most recently took a 3-1 home win over Villanova.

Senior Kelly Hanna leads the team in scoring with four goals and nine points. Georgia Garden Bachop is second on the team with seven points. Seven other Hawks have recorded at least a point in the first eight games. Sophomore Gabi Millan has played every minute in goal for the Hawks, boasting a .690 save percentage and 2.14 goals against average.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Friday marks the fourth time the Catamounts and Hawks have met, with the most recent meeting in 2011. Vermont took a 2-1 overtime victory in the first matchup of the series in 2008, but the Hawks rebounded with victories in 2010 and 2011.

Monmouth and Vermont will face each other often in the coming years with Monmouth slated to join the America East conference next season.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
La Salle enters Sunday's contest with a 3-5 overall record and 0-2 mark in A10 conference play. The Explorers fell 4-1 to UMass on Friday. La Salle is looking to snap a five-game losing streak on Sunday, dropping matches to UC Davis, Longwood, St. Francis, and Georgetown before falling to the Minutewomen.

Sophomore forward Rialee Allen leads the Explorers in goals (4) and points (9). Seniors Logan Oh and Megan Kida are second on the team with eighth points apiece. Junior Emma Provost has started all seven games in goal for La Salle in 2018. She holds a .750 save percentage and 1.99 goals against average.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Sunday renews a matchup that initially began in 1981 with a 2-0 Vermont victory in Philadelphia. Since then, the teams have met five additional times: 1984, 1999, 2002, 2003, and 2016. Each team has won three games in the series.
