Earlier in the year, Lamb landed on the Lou Henson Award Preseason Watch List. The award is presented annually to the nation's top mid-major player in Division I college basketball. Lou Henson coached 41 years and left the game in 2005 with the sixth-most Division I career wins (779). He is the winningest coach at both Illinois and New Mexico State. He is one of only 12 coaches in the history of the game to take two schools to the Final Four.
Lamb is one of 50 student-athletes to earn a spot on the list and one of two America East players – Stony Brook's Akwasi Yeboah. This season, he leads the league with a 21.5 scoring average, 114 field goals made, and 36 blocks. He also sits third in the conference with 7.3 rebounds per game. The Rochester, New York native ranks in the top-25 nationally in blocks, field goals made, and points per game.
The 2018-19 Lou Henson Award will be presented in April at the CollegeInsider.com awards ceremony in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the site of this year's Final Four.
