KINGSTON, R.I. – Mina Poppas won the 500 free at the first day of the 2019 Harold Anderson Invitational as the Vermont Catamounts sit in fourth place with 186.5 points with two days of competition remaining.
Host Rhode Island leads the Invitational with 245.5 points through day one of competition.

- Poppas (5:00.12) won the 500 free with a time of 5:00.12. Captain Sophia Smith trailed in fourth with a time of 5:06.31.
- Cailin Campbell claimed fourth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.48.
- Vivian Nguyen finished sixth in the 50 free with a time of 24.49.
- Emily Murphy posted a score of 218.65 to finish fifth in the one-meter dive.
