COACH'S QUOTE
"It was a fun night for me, I had a lot more emotions than I thought I would," Cioffi Men's Basketball Head Coach John Becker said. "It's hard to play against your friends and a place that I really care about. It was good that everyone got in tonight and everyone scored."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The score was close early but the Green and Gold pulled ahead 25-9 midway through the first half after mounting a 17-5 run.
  • The Cats continued to push the tempo for the remainder of the period and outscored the Bison 26-4 for a 51-13 advantage at the break. UVM's defense held GU to 18.8% shooting (6-for-32) in the first half.
  • In the second half, Vermont continued its offensive rhythm and pushed its lead to as large as a 53-point margin with eight minutes left to play. The Catamounts shot 56.3% (18-for-32) in the final frame.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Daniel Giddens nearly recorded his first collegiate double-double with 17 points and eight boards. The graduate senior shot 7-of-10 from the floor and blocked one shot.
  • Ryan Davis registered his second double-double of the year with 17 points and 10 rebounds. He shot 7-of-11 from the field and pulled down five offensive boards.
  • Duncan Demuth and Eric Beckett added 10 points apiece. The duo combined for eight field goals, including three triples, and five rebounds.
  • Deng Adiang netted his first collegiate bucket with a fast-break layup late in the second half.
  • Becker served as Gallaudet's head men's basketball coach from 1997-99, his first collegiate head coaching job, after three seasons as an assistant coach. Kevin Kovacs, GU's current head coach, was a player during Becker's time as an assistant.
  • The Catamounts won tonight which brings the win total to 101, which means Vermont Mutual Insurance will be donating $100 to Make A Wish Vermont. This win brings the 2019 total to $10,100. A special thank you to Vermont Mutual Insurance for their support. Vermont Mutual Insurance, protecting Vermonters since 1828.
