WORCESTER, Mass. – For the second-straight year, junior
Sierra Sexton sprinted her way to the silver medal in the 50 free. She finished in 23.48 to earn All-Conference honors for the eighth time in her career.
After two days of competition, Vermont sits in fourth place in the team standings with 176 points behind New Hampshire (290) UMBC (276.5) and Maine (191.5).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Four Catamounts competed in the B-final of the 500 free, led by Sophia Smith (5:02.27) in 10th, Kristina Posnick (5:04.32) in 11th, Kendall Ware (5:07.78) in 1, and Maddy Kovacs (5:08.69) in 14th.
- A pair of Catamounts competed in the B-final of the 200 IM. Katie Rivers touched the wall in 2:07.18 for 10th while Haley Gula finished in 2:08.91 for 14th.
- Sexton raced to second in the 50 free for the second-straight year, stopping the clock in 23.48 while freshman Kira Parker took eighth in 24.09.
- The 200 free relay team of Parker (24.29), Nguyen (24.63), Smith (23.95) and Sexton (22.68) concluded day two with a bronze-medal performance, combining for a time of 1:35.55.
UP NEXT
The Cats dive back in the pool for day three of America East action tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. at WPI. Day three's events include the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and the 400 medley relay.
