USBWA: Release
The District I region consists of schools in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
Becker adds his second Coach of the Year award of the postseason after he was voted America East Coach of the Year by his peers last week. Becker is a two-time winner as he was picked as the USBWA District I Coach of the Year back in 2017. The bench boss guided the Catamounts to a 14-2 league record and the program's ninth regular season championship. UVM's 25 overall victories this season are the most by a New England team and are currently tied for the third-highest single-season win total in school history. During the non-conference slate, the Green and Gold matched the school record with 10 non-conference victories and swept the Atlantic 10 for the first time ever.
Lamb collects USBWA All-District honors for the second time in his career after he was named to the District I Team as a freshman. The Rochester, New York native was voted America East Player of the Year last week and leads the league in scoring (21.2) and rebounding (7.9). Lamb's 21.2 scoring average is currently the second-best by a New England player behind Quinnipiac's Cameron Young (23.3). In conference play, he finished second in points per game (19.6), rebounds per game (8.4), field goal percentage (53.2%), and blocks (17). The 6-6 forward recorded six double-doubles, the most by a Catamount since Marqus Blakely posted 17 in 2009-10, and scored 20-plus 16 times.
