BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont junior forward
Anthony Lamb was named an Associated Press (AP) All-America Honorable Mention on Tuesday. Lamb becomes the sixth Catamount to earn AP All-America honors and inks his spot in the record book next to UVM legends
Trae Bell-Haynes (2017 and 2018), Marqus Blakely (2008 and 2009), Taylor Coppenrath (2003, 2004 and 2005), T.J. Sorrentine (2002), and Mike Evelti (1981).

Lamb adds another career honor to his trophy case as the 6-6 forward was voted America East Player of the Year and U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) District I (New England) Player of the Year earlier this season. He also garnered National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First Team All-District I honors. NABC districts are divided by athletic conferences. District I is composed of programs in America East and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Lamb, an America East All-Conference First Team pick, is the fifth conference Player of the Year to win both the league's regular season and tournament crowns in the last 14 years - joining Bell-Haynes in 2016-17, Stony Brook's Jameel Warney in 2015-16, and Coppenrath in 2004-05 as the only players to accomplish the feat.
In the America East Championship Game, he poured in a game-high 28 points as Vermont knocked off defending champion UMBC 66-49 for its record-tying seventh conference tournament title. He was tabbed as the tournament's Most Outstanding Player for the second time in three years. He averaged 26.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in UVM's three-game championship run. Lamb's 21.2 scoring average was the highest by a Catamount since Coppenrath dropped 25.1 points per game back in 2004-05. Lamb's 21.2 scoring average was also the second-best by a New England player behind Quinnipiac's Cameron Young (23.3). In conference play, he finished second in points per game (19.6), rebounds per game (8.4), field goal percentage (53.2%), and blocks (17). The 6-6 forward logged six double-doubles and hit the 20-point mark 17 times.
Vermont wrapped up the 2018-19 campaign with a 27-7 record - tied for the second-most wins in school history. The Catamounts capped off another historic season with their second trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last three years. After posting a 14-2 mark in conference play, the Cats captured the program's ninth America East regular season championship. UVM is only one of eight Division I teams to record at least 11 consecutive 20-win seasons - Duke, Gonzaga, Louisville, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Saint Mary's. During the non-conference slate, the Green and Gold matched a program record with 10 victories and completed a season sweep over the Atlantic 10 (George Washington, George Mason, and St. Bonaventure) for the first time ever.
