THOROLD, Ontario – Former two-time America East Player of the Year
Trae Bell-Haynes '18 has signed with the Niagara River Lions of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). The CEBL, in its inaugural season, is the first professional league of Canada Basketball and operates under International Basketball Federation (FIBA) rules.

Last month, Bell-Haynes played for the Wisconsin Herd, an NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks. He averaged 5.9 points, 3.0 assists, and 1.6 assists per game in eight appearances. He shot 57.0% from the floor and averaged 19 minutes per game. Prior to his time with the Herd, the 6-2 floor general spent the winter with the Fraport Skyliners of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) – the highest level of professional club basketball in Germany. He dropped 7.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game with the Skyliners.
The Toronto, Ontario native finished his UVM career with 1,629 points and climbed to No. 8 on the program's all-time scoring list. Bell-Haynes also cracked the top-five with 518 career assists. He earned Associated Press (AP) Honorable Mention All-America honors as a junior and senior and became the first Catamount under Cioffi Men's Basketball Head Coach
