SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Vermont Athletic Department hosted its annual Catamount Golf Classic presented by Baker Distributing on Monday, May 20 at Vermont National Country Club in South Burlington. The shotgun scramble tournament raised over $15,000 (net), which will be used for student-athlete scholarships in an effort to continually enhance the student-athlete experience. The athletic department would like to thank all the golf participants and sponsors that helped make the day such a success again this year.

Each golfer received a V-Cat stainless steel water bottle, provided by Select Design, and a '47 Brand Catamount hat. On the course, Steve Gentile, Vermont Basketball PA Announcer, sponsored a $10,000 cash prize for hole in one prizing and McKenzie hot dogs were served to golfers during their round. Coaches and athletic staff members were on hand throughout the day and assisted with delivering beverages (donated by Baker Distributing and Coca-Cola) and Ramunto's pizza to golfers during their round. Lunch was provided to golfers upon arrival by Dave's Cosmic Subs along with Cabot cheese and cookies provided by DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels Burlington, Vermont. PC Construction was also on hand during the registration time with renderings of the facility project and providing golf balls to all participants.
Mansfield Heliflight sponsored a 50/50 Helicopter Ball Drop and Gay Godfrey won with ball number 30.
Following play, participants were greeted by Athletic Director,
Jeff Schulman '89, as he shared updates on the upcoming facility enhancements and thanked by Jackie Gillen '18 G'19, an outgoing member of the field hockey team. A buffet was served and silent auction items included an autographed Brian Wright New England Revolution (provided by Brian Wright '17), as well as Patriots club seats and VIP parking (provided by Barry Cohen '75), New York Giants tickets and parking (provided by Tony Cairns), a stay at the Hampton Inn Colchester/Burlington, a stay at Kresge Kabin, a Cabot Legacy Box, and a foursome to Burlington Country Club. America East, Hockey East and the UVM Bookstore also provided gift packages for the silent auction.
Ryan Callahan (assistant men's hockey coach), won the SymQuest closest to the pin contest with a distance of five feet, his prize was a SymQuest 60 degree Cleveland golf wedge.
Sarah Dalton (head women's lacrosse coach) and Shawn Maynard each won $50 Windjammer gift cards for the women's and men's longest drive contests.
