FIELD HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
The Vermont Catamounts (2-3) host the Merrimack College Warriors (0-4) at 4 p.m. Friday (Sept. 20) at Moulton Winder Field for Military Appreciation Day presented by Milton CAT. Vermont then travels south to take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats (1-4) at noon on Sunday (Sept. 22) in Hamden, Connecticut.
Friday's game will stream through CatamounTV for free while Sunday's contest will have live stats and video available through Quinnipiac's site.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
Merrimack, in its first season as a Division I program, holds an 0-4 record with losses to Temple, Holy Cross, Longwood, and Davidson.

Senior Katharina Ohmen has played almost every minute in the goal so far this season. She holds a 2.79 goals against average and a .792 save percentage.

The Warriors finished with an 18-4 overall record and an 11-2 mark in the NE10 conference last season. The team won the NE10 championship and went on to lose in the first round of the Division II NCAA Championship.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and Merrimack meet for the first time in series history on Friday at Moulton-Winder Field. The Warriors made the complete jump to Division I competition prior to the 2019 campaign.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Quinnipiac enters the weekend with a 1-4 record and hosts fourth-ranked UConn tomorrow afternoon to open Big East conference play. Quinnipiac opened the season on the West Coast with games against California, UC Davis, and Stanford.

Two freshman goalies have split time this season. Hedda Biermann-Ratjen has a 1.70 goals against average and a .792 save percentage in 176:45 of gameplay. Mack Vorel has a 3.89 goals against average and a .750 save percentage in 123:15.

Quinnipiac finished last season with a 7-10 overall record and 2-5 Big East record.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and Quinnipiac meet for the second straight season and for the seventh time in the last eight seasons on Sunday in Hamden, Connecticut. The Bobcats hold a 6-1 series record against the Catamounts. UVM's lone win in the series came in 2016 at Moulton-Winder Field.

MATTHEWS TAKES OFF

Bailey Matthews tallied two goals and an assist in Vermont's 4-2 win over Brown last Friday (Sept. 13) at Moulton Winder Field. The forward tallied the game-winning-goal for the second straight game; she scored the lone goal in Vermont's 1-0 win over Hofstra (Sept. 8).
