The Vermont Catamounts (0-1) travel to Fairfield, Connecticut to take on the Fairfield University Stags (1-1) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 before taking on the Hofstra University Pride (0-3) in Hempstead, New York at noon on Sunday, Sept. 8.

NEW SEASON, NEW RULES
The NCAA has shifted from two 35-minute halves to four 15-minute quarters for the 2019 season. In conjunction with the change, the game clock will be frozen during all penalty corner stoppages.

SCOUTING THE STAGS
Fairfield enters Friday's contest with a 1-1 record after opening the season with a 3-0 loss at UMass Lowell before a 3-2 overtime win at 13th-ranked Boston College. Three Stags found the back of the net in the win over the Eagles.

Zoe Rosen has played both games in net and holds a 2.88 goals against average and .808 save percentage.

The Stags finished the 2018 season with a 12-9 overall record and lost in the NEC Championship game to Monmouth.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and Fairfield meet for the second straight season and 10th time since 2007 this Friday. The Stags took a 3-1 win at Moulton-Winder last season and look for their ninth straight win over the Catamounts. Vermont is 1-5 in games played at Fairfield in the series. Fairfield holds an 8-7 all-time series edge over Vermont.

SCOUTING THE PRIDE
Hofstra enters Sunday's contest against Vermont with an 0-3 record with losses against Wagner, St. Joseph's, and Monmouth. The Pride have been outscored 18-1 in those three games. Sophomore Cami Larsson has the lone goal of the season.

Junior Cecilla DeSimone has played two games in goal and holds a 6.00 goals against average and .400 save percentage. Merlijn van der Vegt played against Monmouth, allowing six goals on 18 shots for a .667 save percentage.

Hofstra finished the 2018 season with a 5-13 overall record and 2-4 CAA record.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and Hofstra meet for the 14th time in series history and first time since 2015 on Sunday in Hempstead, New York. Hofstra won the first meeting in 1994 in Burlington and the teams alternated victories until back-to-back Pride victories in 2014 and 2015 gave them a 7-6 all-time series record against Vermont.
