WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
Vermont (9-9-5, 6-7-3 HEAW) visits conference foe Boston College (11-9-2, 10-7-1 HEAW) for a two-game series beginning on Friday (Jan. 17). Puck drop is slated for 6 p.m. at Conte Forum. The matchup on Saturday (Jan. 18) is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College brings an 11-9-2 (10-7-1 HEAW) record after dropping six straight games. Five of those six losses have come to ranked opponents (Wisconsin, Boston University, and Northeastern) while the other loss came to Harvard who was receiving votes.

Sophomore Kelly Browne paces the offense with a team-high 16 assists and 24 points. Hannah Bilka leads the Eagles with 11 goals and 82 shots. The freshman leads all Hockey East rookies in goals and is second in the nation.

Maddy McArthur has played in 18 of 22 games this season between the pipes with a .907 save percentage and a 2.52 goals against average. Fellow sophomore Kelly Pickreign has split time with McArthur over the last five games and has posted a .911 save percentage and a 2.73 goals against average this season.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Friday's game is the 55th all-time meeting between the Catamounts and Eagles. BC took the first game of the season series (Oct. 20) with a 3-2 victory at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
Alyssa Holmes opened the scoring, but BC responded with three goals.
Theresa Schafzahl's third-period goal gave UVM a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but an
Abby Cleary one-timer was blocked by Cayla Barnes.

LAST TIME OUT
Kristina Shanahan tallied a goal and an assist and
Blanka Škodová had a season-high 30 stops in a 4-2 win over Merrimack. Shanahan struck early with her eighth of the season just 2:42 into the contest and
Theresa Schafzahl doubled the lead before the first intermission.
Corinne McCool netted the game-winner in the middle frame and Sini Karjalaianen tallied her fourth goal and 20th point of the season.

SUCCESS AT THE DOT
Vermont is the third-most successful team at the faceoff dot in the country, winning 56.7% of its draws. Only Wisconsin (61.1%) and UConn (57.2%) are ahead. The Catamounts lead the nation in draws during 2020 with 65.2% of their faceoffs won. UVM is the only team with three or more centers that are at 60% or better at the dot (
Alyssa Holmes,
Ève-Audrey Picard, and
Ali O'Leary). Holmes is tied for the national lead in faceoff percentage (65.6%) winning 122 of 186 draws this season.

SHANAHAN'S STREAK
Kristina Shanahan has registered goals in three consecutive games. The junior has posted five goals in her last six games, which leads Hockey East during that stretch. She has seven points in her last six contests, which is tied for second in the league with teammates
Maude Poulin-Labelle and
Ève-Audrey Picard. Shanahan's eight goals this season are tied for third on the Catamounts.

The Catamounts will be hosting the seventh annual Pack the Gut game on Friday (Feb. 7). The goal is to break the Hockey East attendance record, which was set by Vermont on Feb. 3, 2017 in the fourth annual Pack the Gut challenge. AllÂ
