Women’s Hockey Announces Seven Newcomers for 2026-27 Campaign

BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont women's hockey program announced the incoming class poised to join the Catamount for the 2026-27 season on Monday afternoon. The incoming class consists of five first years and two transfers.

"This is an exciting class to welcome to our program as we are adding both talent and depth to our lineup," said Head Coach Jim Plumer. "Adding this group to our returning lineup of veterans is going to help make us even more competitive this season. We look forward to watching this group of freshman and transfers contribute in both the short term and the long term."
 
#2 Addyson Peel | Fr. | Defense | Scarborough, ME | New Hampton School
Peel joins the Catamounts following an accomplished career at New Hampton School, where she developed into one of New England's top defensive prospects. The 5-foot-11 blueliner totaled 49 points (12 goals, 37 assists) in 62 career games, earned All-NEPSAC honors, was recognized as a Lakes Region All-Star, received New Hampton's 212 Award, and competed for the Valley Warriors U19 program while helping prepare for NCAA Division I hockey. Peel also captained her team during her senior year at New Hampton.
 
#6 Maria Gray | Fr. | Forward | Monona, WI | Phillips Exeter Academy
Gray arrives in Burlington after one of the most decorated prep careers in the country. A two-year captain at Phillips Exeter Academy, she finished with 139 career points (69 goals, 70 assists) in 100 games played, surpassing the 100-point milestone during her senior season. She earned All-NEPSAC honors three times, earned the 2026 Moe Tarrant Award, and the Patsy Odden Tournament MVP award after leading Exeter to the 2026 Patsy Odden Large School Championship. 
 
#21 Zoe Charland | Fr. | Forward | Sherbrooke, Quebec | Stanstead College
Charland joins the Catamounts following a dominant career at Stanstead College, where she recorded 100 points (41 goals, 59 assists) in 61 games during the 2025-26 season. She helped Team Quebec capture the 2025 U18 Canadian National Championship, including scoring the game-tying goal in the gold medal game, while also helping win the 2024 Hockey League Championship. Charland was named Hockey MVP in 2024 and earned 2026 Hockey Second Team All-Star honors. A standout multi-sport athlete, she was also a four-time Lacrosse MVP (2023-26) and helped lead her squad to the 2026 Lacrosse League Championship. 
 
#29 Gracesyn Louis | Fr. | Forward | Redondo Beach, CA | Lovell Academy
Louis comes to Vermont after starring for Lovell Academy and competing at the highest levels of girls' hockey on the West Coast. A dynamic offensive forward, she brings speed, playmaking ability and scoring touch to the Catamounts' forward group.
 
#32 Tara Bach | So. | Goalie | Oakville, Ontario | Mercyhurst (AHA)
Bach transfers to Vermont after an impressive first year season at Mercyhurst, where she appeared in eight games (seven starts) and posted a 6-1-0 record, 0.90 goals-against average, .955 save percentage and three shutouts. Her .955 save percentage ranked among the nation's leaders, while she earned Atlantic Hockey America All-Academic Team honors. Prior to college, Bach starred for the Stoney Creek Sabres in the OWHL U22 Elite League and represented Germany at the IIHF U18 Women's World Championship.
 
#77 Linnea Misner | So. | Defense | Springfield, MB | Robert Morris (AHA)
Misner arrives after an outstanding first year campaign at Robert Morris, skating in all 36 games while totaling four goals and 15 assists for 19 points, leading all Colonial defensemen in assists and points. She earned Atlantic Hockey America All-Rookie Team honors, was a two-time AHA Rookie of the Week, and quickly established herself as one of the conference's top young defensemen.
 
#92 Lexie Hatoum | Fr. | Forward | Ottawa, ON | Ottawa Senators
Hatoum joins Vermont after playing for the U22 Ottawa Senators in the OWHL while enjoying a successful multi-sport career at the varsity level. She totaled 40 career points in varsity hockey, earning Varsity School Hockey MVP honors in 2024 and 2026, while also helping her field hockey team capture a regular season championship and qualify for the OFSAA Championships. In addition to her success on the ice, Hatoum excelled in flag football, recording 89 points during the 2025-26 season and earning 2026 Flag Football MVP honors.
